As part of the PC Gaming Show, developer and publisher Kitfox Games announced its sandbox RPG Streets of Fortuna. The title is set in Fortuna, which is a procedurally generated city inspired by Constantinople circa 500 CE. Players are able to freely take on occupations of their choosing, including thief, blacksmith, rebel, priest, smuggler, and more. The game doesn’t feature a class or job system, with players customising their characters through a number of skills to improve.
Kitfox Games revealed that it is collaborating with Bay 12 Games, developer of Dwarf Fortress, to optimize the game for “emergent player stories”. Streets of Fortuna is currently being developed for PC and is planned to launch on Steam Early Access, with no release window as of yet.
